Bassi historical places
A tiny village located just 25kms from Chittorgarh, Bassi is a famous tourist place in Rajasthan. Known for its sculptures and woodcraft it lies on the way to Bundi. There are some beautiful historical forts and temples in Bassi which attracts tourist from all over to visit here. Tourists have the option to stay at the magnificent 16th century Bassi Fort which is the main highlight of this village. Today converted into a luxury hotel it gives the travelers a glimpse of the glorious past enjoyed by Bassi. One can also visit two large water reservoirs which are used as irrigation dams called as Bassi Dam and Orai Dam; tourists enjoy angling, boating and bird watching on these dams. Sightseeing Places in Bassi Chittorgarh Fort
The massive structure that stands tall over a 180 m high hillock covering a massive area of 700 acres. It is a great 7th century fort that is located at a distance of 25kms approx from Bassi. Believed to have been built by the Maurya rulers. The entrance to the fort is provided through seven gates leading up to the main gate Rampol (Gate of Lord Ram). There are number of magnificent monuments inside the fort itself. Emperor Akbar carried away all the distinctive pieces of architecture and sculpture and placed them in his capital.
Bassi Wildlife sanctuary
Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary located on the western boundary of Vindhyachal Ranges it spreads in area of 15,290 hectares. Established in 1988 it is wonderful wildlife park attracting many wildlife lovers every year who visit to savor its wilderness. It has rich wildlife consisting of antelopes, wild boars, panthers, mongoose etc. Some of the exquisite migratory birds are also spotted in the respective season.

Located 2kms from the palace is the Bassi Berisal station. And Chittorgarh railway station is another major closest railhead to Bassi.
